Ha noi

 Wow, forget how tiring air travel was. Bit disappointed with premium economy, bit more leg room and up towards the front of the plane but little else. Seat was quite comfortable and on recline it pivoted on itself and the back just slightly went back, a very interesting design. Plane left a little late but not enough to worry about at the other end. Meals were ok but wine both white and red tasted shit, the beer was ok though. It was 30 degrees when we arrived in Ho Chi Minh, proceeded through immigration, picked bags up and then customs and checked in luggage for Hanoi and then proceeded to the departure gate. Our was 6.20 pm and we had just over an hour to wait. Our eta was 8.45. It has been a long day having got up at 6.10 am. Our flight was delayed in Ho Chi Minh and it was pouring rain when we took off. It was a two hour flight arriving at 9.15 and then did not reach the terminal until 9.50 - a long taxi in the plane and then bus to the terminal. Picked up our bags and our ride was waiting for us. Very friendly. 40 mins to hotel, told we would be provided with a sandwich and drink, we chose a beer. Met our tour guide, all in a bit of a daze. Two club sandwiches and chips arrived with our beers. Eventually got to bed at 11.45 Vietnam time - 3.45 Melb time. So tired drank the tap water! Not thinking, only a small amount. Both had a good night sleep and a lovely breakfast and now off on our first excursion.
