Apart from Ann, myself and a couple of others in the group, most of them suffered some kind of sickness. Some worse than others with a couple missing quite a few tours because of their sickness. On the last day I started to get a sore throat. I took some cold and flu tablets.
After getting home (Saturday 12 November) I gradually got worse, developing a bronchial cough. Ann started to get cold and flu like symptoms. By Monday I had a really bad cough and headaches. On the same day Ann met with Geoff and Libby about changing Alma's bank accounts. By Wednesday I had not improved and Ann was not feeling well. We also heard that a couple from the tour who were due to go on a cruise had been denied entry to the ship because she had a severe cold, even though she had tested negative to Covid. We also heard another from the group on arriving back in Australia was taken straight to hospital and had subsequently tested positive to Legionella.
I was feeling a little better on Thursday but as I had already made an appointment to see the doctor I went anyway. He gave me a PCR test and a number of blood tests. I tested negative to Covid but positive to influenza. Also heard that Geoff had tested positive to Covid!
On Friday I was initially feeling better but later I was fatigued and at times dizzy.
On Sunday we heard Libby had tested positive to Covid. I was still not feeling well, continuing to cough.
On Tuesday (22/11) Ann went to see Alma, but tested positive to Covid. Adam and I took a RAT and we both tested positive.
Adam did not seem to be too ill, while Ann and I varied from day to day, but towards the end of the day we were feeling very tired. On Monday 28/11 I took another RAT and still tested positive. By Wednesday I was starting to feel better and played golf on the Thursday. Ann tested negative. We gradually started improving from then on. So it took us nearly three weeks to recover from our 18 day holiday! Just thankful we were not ill during the holiday.
